Background
In January 2008, Karat Elektrik Üretim ve Ticaret A.Ş. filed an application with Turkey's Energy Market Regulatory Authority (EPDK) to build a 1,200-MW coal-fired power plant in the Bandırma district of Balıkesir province. EPDK's records state that the "last date of appeal" was February 2008.[1]
No information is available on this proposal since these initial regulatory documents in 2008, and the plant was likely cancelled.
