Habas Aliaga steel plant (HABAŞ (Turkish)), also known as Habas Demir Celik, is a 4500 thousand tonnes per annum (TTPA) electric arc furnace (EAF) steel plant operating in Aliağa, İzmir, Türkiye.

Background

Habas S.A. is a large industrial and medical gas producer and distributor of liquefied natural gas (LNG) and compressed natural gas (CNG), in addition to producing steel.[2]

Habas S.A. was established in 1985, but their steelmaking plant began operations in 1987.[3]

Production at the plant is scrap-based.[3]
