Background

Hebei Anfeng Iron and Steel Group Co., Ltd. is an iron and steel complex that integrates coking, sintering, pelletizing, ironmaking, steelmaking, and rolling.[2]

Since April 2021, due to multiple violations of environmental protection, safety production, and other related requirements, Hebei Anfeng Iron and Steel Co., Ltd. has been penalized 12 times by administrative law enforcement departments for environmental protection and emergency management, with a total fine amounting to a staggering 3.305 million yuan.And since 2017, Anfeng has received a total of 28 environmental penalties. It mainly involves environmental violations such as dust and gaseous pollutant emissions.[3]
