The project was approved by the State Investment Planning Board in March, 2007; however, according to an update on the Bihar State Electricity Board website, "Progress has not been reported by the firm." It appears that the project has been abandoned by its sponsor, Cement Manufacturing Company Ltd.. The project is not mentioned on the website of the company.
