Minyuan Iron and Steel Group Co., Ltd. (闽源钢铁集团有限公司), also known as Henan Minyuan Special Steel Co., Ltd., is a 3000 thousand tonnes per annum (TTPA) blast furnace (BF) and basic oxygen furnace (BOF) steel plant operating in Yongcheng, Henan, China.

Background

According to the capacity replacement plan in July 2022, the company plans to upgrade equipment and eliminate existing equipment. The assigned iron-making capacity is 1.475 million tons and the steel-making capacity is 3.375 million tons.[2]

The project involves demolish one 1,080m3 BF, one 55-ton BOF, and one 60-ton BOF. The company intends to construct one 1,280 m3 BF, two 120-ton BOF, two 120-ton ladle furnaces (LF), and two 120-ton vacuum refining furnaces.The project is scheduled to commence in July 2023, with an estimated completion and production date in July 2025.[3]
