Nanao-Ota Shinko power station (七尾大田発電所) is an operating power station of at least 1200-megawatts (MW) in Nanao, Ishikawa, Chūbu, Japan. It is also known as Nanao-Ota power station.

Background

The plant is owned by Hokuriku Power Company. Unit 1 began operating in 1995, and unit 2 in 1998.[1][2]

Unit 2 of the power station co-fires woody biomass.[3]

In January 2024, both units of the power station were shut down following a 7.6 magnitude earthquake on January 1.[4][5]
