Background

The project is not mentioned on the GMR Energy website, however a Terms of Reference (ToR) was issued by the Ministry of Environment and Forests for the project on April 27, 2010.[1][2]

The proposal is for setting up of 9 X 700 MW (6300) coal-based power plant at Ontimavadi village. The land requirement is about 2700 acres. Domestic coal and imported coal in the ratio 70:30 will be used as fuel.[2]

As of 2014 the project is not mentioned on the GMR Energy website, and has not received an environmental clearance permit, and appears to have been cancelled.
