Background
On its website Kohinoor Group states that the project will be 215 MW, built in two phases: 2 x 33 MW and 1 x 150 MW. Kohinoor Group said work on the first phase of 66 MW had already commenced. [1][2][3]
It was later reported the plant was to be constructed by Abhijeet Group. Progress stalled in 2014 due to the Coalgate scandal. In May 2016 Abhijeet Group said work on the 2 x 30 MW plant, of which the state would receive 30 MW of electricity, could restart within three months if the state renewed its power purchase agreement with Abhijeet Group.[4]
In February 2017 the Times of India reported the project was cancelled.[5]
