Taiyuan Gangue power station (大唐太原第二热电厂七期扩建项目) is a 660-megawatt (MW) waste coal-fired power plant in Shanxi Province, China.

Background on Project

In 2009 Puda Coal signed a letter of intent with the Shanxi government to restructure six coal mines and build a 270 MW (2 x 135 MW) waste coal-fired power plant in Shanxi Province.[1]

Later the project changed hands to China Datang, and the size was changed to 2 x 330 MW.[2]

The power station began operating in 2014.[3][4]
