Background

American LNG's Hialeah terminal is an approved LNG export terminal in the US, and has submitted contracts for long-term export of LNG to the US Department of Energy.

In August of 2015, the US Department of Energy authorized American LNG Marketing to export LNG from the Hialeah Terminal, including to countries which do not have a Free Trade Agreement with the United States. Exports will be shipped via ISO LNG containers. American LNG began production in February of 2016 and is currently operational.
