Background

A Thermal MoEF News article stated that "land requirements shall be restricted to 822 acres, which comprises 762 acres of single crop agricultural land and 60 acres of waste land." Water for the project will be sourced from the Sone River. The project was issued a terms of reference on Oct 12, 2010.[1]

However, as of 2014 the project has not received environmental clearance, and may have been cancelled.
