Background
In 1950 the Beckum cement plant implemented their first leopol kiln system which, in 1964, was replaced by a heat exchanger furnace from Polysius. In 2023, GEA installed a carbon capture pilot plant at the Beckum plant, with the goal of capturing over 90% of its CO2 emissions.
