Background on Project

China Power International Development is planning to build two units of 660 MW each in Guizhou Province.[1] The units are under construction and were planned for operation in June 2017.[2]

The operation date for the two units was later postponed to December 2017.[3]

Unit 2 was commissioned first, in December 2018.[4] Unit 1 was commissioned on January 24, 2019.[5]

Units 3-4

In addition, two more units of 660 MW are planned.[6]

However, there have been no developments on the units since first proposed in May 2016, and plans appear to be cancelled.

Ownership

In July 2015, China Power Investment Corporation (CPI) and State Nuclear Power Technology Corporation (SNPTC) merged to become State Power Investment Corporation (国家电力投资集团), one of the five largest state-owned electricity producers in the People's Republic of China.[7]
