Background

The two existing coal-fired units of Wusu power station, totaling 600 MW, were brought online in 2011. The plant was originally owned by CPI.[1]

Proposed expansion

CPI was planning to build two additional coal-fired units at this plant, with a total planned capacity of 700 MW.[2][3]

However, with no updates since 2012, plans appeared cancelled.

Ownership

In July 2015, China Power Investment Corporation (CPI) and State Nuclear Power Technology Corporation (SNPTC) merged to become State Power Investment Corporation (国家电力投资集团), one of the five largest state-owned electricity producers in the People's Republic of China.[4]
