Background
Its construction began in 2005 and was carried out in two phases, ending in 2010. Initially, it was started up with 2 gas turbines that used diesel as fuel and a power of 154 megawatts.[6] The following year the steam turbine was commissioned to complete the first combined cycle. In 2008, with the inauguration of the natural gas pipeline that serves the Balearic Islands, it started to run on this fuel. [7]
The project is part of the Green Hysland Hydrogen infrastructure project, and will be one of the first power plants to use Hydrogen for power generation in Spain.[8]
