Background
The Dos Bocas II power station underwent the environmental risk assessment in September 2020.[5]
In January 2022, the Dos Bocas refinery project was projected to be $3.6 billion over budget and is a critical component of President Lopez Obrador's plan for Mexico to be self-sufficient in fuel consumption in 2023.[6]
