Background

The largest generating unit at the Guaracachi power station is a 208 MW combined cycle block consisting of the gas-fired units GCH-9 and GCH-10 and a steam turbine unit identified as GCH-12.[9]

Bolivia's national electricity agency ENDE has proposed the the addition of a 35 MW steam turbine to the gas-fired unit GCH-11 to create a second combined cycle block.[10][11]

The plant also has four smaller units (GCH-1, GCH-2, GCH-4 and GCH-6) with a combined generating capacity of approximately 80 MW.[12][13]
