Background
The Quillabamba power station was originally proposed in 2014 as a 200 MW, simple cycle, gas-fired power plant.[7] The plant was to be supplied with gas from Peru's proposed Southern Gas Pipeline.[8][9] Plans for the power plant have been repeatedly suspended and re-activated.[10][11]
The plant continued to be mentioned in press reports as recently as January 2020[12], but as of April 2022 there had been no further news of it in more than two years, and the project is presumed to be shelved.
