Background
The power plant is a peak power station and is started up at peak electricity demand.[6] As of 2021, only the gas turbines of the combined cycle units are in use. The mothballed 664 MW of capacity is for the two combined cycle units, each with a capacity of 332 megawatts (MW), the operating capacity comes from the four gas turbines that are part of the combined cycle.[6] According to the European Network of Transmission System Operators for Electricity the plant has operated in this configuration since 2019.
