Ownership Tree

Background

The four existing coal-fired units of Xutang power station, totaling 1,200 MW, were brought online between 2001 and 2004. The plant is owned by China Datang.[3][4]

Description of Expansion

Datang is currently planning to build two additional coal-fired units at this plant, with a total planned capacity of 2,000 MW.[5]

However, with no developments since May 2015, the project appears to be cancelled.

Phase III Unit 5 was on Jiangsu's 15th Five-Year Plan project list in January 2025[6], and the preliminary feasibility report review passed on January 3[7]. No significant news emerged in 2026[8].
