Background

The Deuna cement plant specializes in producing cement bound for ready mix concrete facilities. In 2019 the plant installed a solid fuel recovery processor to process waste as fuel. In 2024, owner Duena Zement announced an investment of €350m to install a carbon capture system at the plant, which is planned to be operational in 2029.
