Background
In February 2022, the Mexican government denied the extension of Iberdrola's generation permit in a move to strengthen the power of the state-owned power utilities over private operators.[8][9] In March 2022, a Mexican judge ruled that the Spanish energy firm could continue operations at it's Dulces Nombres plants.[10][11]
