Background
The SOTACIB Kasserine cement plant is the largest producer of white cement in Tunisia. It began production in 1987 and expanded with a second production line to reach a total capacity of 700 thousand tonnes per year.[3] The plant has faced accusations of dangerous working conditions, especially after a 2022 incident left 1 worker dead and a dozen injured.[4]
