Background

In January 2007, Russian energy giant Inter RAO announced that it was planning to build a 300-MW, $400-million coal-fired power plant in Turkey's Balıkesir province, through its Turkish subsidiary TGR Enerji. The project is not listed on Inter RAO's website, on the EPDK's website, on the Kara Atlas, or in any more recent news reports; it is unclear whether the proposal is still active.[1][2][3]
