Location, Burmakino-Rybinsk Segment

There is a proposal to reconstruct a segment of the pipeline from Burmakino to Rybinsk-1. This segment starts near Aktivist gas distribution station in Mitino (Mitinsky), Yaroslavl Oblast, and runs to Rybinsk-1 near Yermakovo.

Background

The pipeline is often referred to as Saratov-Gorky-Cherepovets pipeline.

In 2022, a small section of the transmission gas pipeline Gorky-Cherepovets (566-583 km) in the Cherepovets district was transferred into a distribution gas pipeline. As a result of that, the government of the Cherepovets region and Gazprom Transgaz Ukhta were able to preserve 400 summer cottages which had been built when the pipeline had been commissioned in 1961, but later, due to new construction standards and rules, turned out to be located within the pipeline exclusion zone and closer than required minimum distance from the transmission pipeline.

The capacity upgrade of the Burmakino-Rybinsk section of the pipeline was included in the gasification program of Gazprom for 2021-2025 for the Yaroslavl Oblast. The project was mentioned in the list of "Planned Transmission Gas Pipelines" issued by the Ministry of Energy of Russia in May 2015 and revised in May 2023. In July 2023, Gazprom announced a tender for archeological studies on the territory of the project.
