Kadechur power station
Kadechur power station is a proposed 1,320 megawatt coal-fired power station in Karnataka, India.
The map below shows the location of Kadechur village in the Yadgir district, but not the exact location of the project.
While the initial location for the project was proposed as being in the Gulbarga district, an August 2010 Ministry of Coal document states the project has been proposed to be built in Kadechur of Yadgir Taluk, Yadgir district in Karnataka. The Ministry of Coal noted that Atlas Power had earlier applied for the project to be in Gulbaraga district. The Ministry of Coal also noted that the company is seeking coal from either Singareni Collieries or Western Coalfields Limited (WCL).
A terms of reference was issued for the project at Kadechur in January 2014.
However, as of October 2016 the project has yet to receive environmental clearance, and plans appear to be deferred or abandoned. The sponsor, Atlas Power India, appears no longer to be operating.
