Background

The six coal-fired units of Hebi Fenghe-1, 2, and 3, totaling 2,240 MW, were brought online between 1991 and 2007. The 440 MW Hebi Fenghe-1 was retired in 2010. The Hebi Fenghe-2 power station is 2 x 300 MW, and Hebi Fenghe-3 power station is 2 x 600 MW. The plant is owned by Henan Investment Group and Hebi Coal Industry Group.[1][2]

Description of Expansion

The plant's owners planned to build the two-unit Hebi Fenghe-4, with a total planned capacity of 2,000 MW.[3]

However, there have been no news of the plans since 2007,[2] and the expansion was likely cancelled.
