Background

The first two coal-fired units of Huainan Fengtai power station, totaling 1,200 MW, were brought online in 2008. The plant is owned by Huainan Mining Group and Zhejiang Electric Power Construction.[1][2][3]

Description of Expansion

Two additional coal-fired units with a total capacity of 1,320 MW went online in 2013. Construction began in 2012, and was completed in only 18 months. The two units cost ¥4.7 billion ($700 million).[1][4][5][6][7]
