Background

The Tetouan Cement Plant started operations in 2003, and was sometimes referred to as Tetouan Cement Plant II in reference to its replacement of an older cement production facility in Tetouan, which was converted into a lime plant.[3] It's capacity was expanded with a second production line in 2007, which doubled capacity to 2 million tonnes of cement annually.[4] The plant is supplied power by its own dedicated wind farm, notably the first such arrangement in Morocco.[5]
