The Otvalny Yuzhny 2 coal mine began operating in 2005.[1] The mine is made up of two "subsoil" sections — Otvalny Yuzhny No. 2 and Otvalny Yuzhny No. 2 Gluboky. Mining began at Yuzhny in 2005, while mining began at Gluboky in 2013.
