Background
Singapore plans to construct the country's second liquefied natural gas (LNG) terminal in the eastern part of the island-state to enhance energy security and grow the local LNG industry.The proposed second LNG terminal will support new industrial sites and power plants in the area and give Singapore a strategic buffer, as well as support the development of ancillary services like LNG trading, bunkering and vessel cool-down services.[1]
As of July 2023, there are no updates on this project, the terminal is presumed to be shelved.
