Sahara India Power Company is a power generation subsidiary of Sahara India Pariwar, a diversified Indian company with interests in finance, infrastructure & housing, media & entertainment, consumer merchandise retail ventures, manufacturing and Information Technology.[1]

In August 2011, Sahara India Power Company stated that in addition to its proposed 1320 meagwatt Balangir power station it would "be setting up 6000 MW of power plants through mega projects in India" in "association with" the Korean government owned Korea East-West Power Company.[2]

Power projects

Sahara India Power Corporation Ltd. and the Korea East-West Co. Ltd are proposing to build a 1320 megawatt Balangir power station near the village of Titlagarh in the state of Orissa. The proposed power station is opposed by some local villagers.[3]
