Background

In 2022, owner Lafarge France announced investments into constructing a new production line at the Saint Pierre La Cour cement plant that will produce ECOPlanet cement made with calcined clay. Additionally, it was announced in 2023 that carbon captured at the plant will be used in a pilot study to produce kerosene.
