Background on Project

Shandong Steel Rizhao captive power station is a proposed 2 x 350 MW subcritical coal plant. The plant is sponsored by Shandong Iron and Steel Group to power its steel plant in Lanshan District. Construction began in October 2017.[1]

As of February 2019, photos show construction advancing quickly.[2]

Unit 1 was commissioned in October 2019, and unit 2 in November 2020.[3]
