  • Permit(s): August 2023[1][3], August 16, 2012, August 2023[1]

Background on Project

The Taizhou-2 power station includes two 1,000 MW units and two additional 1,000 MW units in planning.[4][5]

Unit 1 began operating in September 2015.[6] Unit 2 began operating in December 2015.[7]

With no permits or developments since their announcement in 2012-2013, the two additional planned units are likely deferred or abandoned.

However, ten years later, in August 2023, the two 1000 MW units were granted permit by Zhejiang Province Development and Reform Commission.[8][9][10]

In December 2023, the groundbreaking ceremony for the pile foundation was held.[11][12]
