Background
The LNG terminal was included in Vietnam's Gas Master Plan.[2] Its capacity was proposed to be 4-6 mtpa, with a start year of 2022-2025.[3]
A nearby proposed LNG-fired power plant, Tan Phuoc power station, has been presumed shelved as of 2021, suggesting the LNG terminal could be presumed shelved as well.
The Power Development Plan 8 includes Tan Phuoc power station among coal-fired capacity 2030, while there are no other updates on the project in four years otherwise. The project is presumed to be cancelled as of 2023.[4]
