Background
UltraTech Cement Limited is part of the Aditya Birla group.[1] UltraTech Cement is the largest manufacturer of grey cement and ready-mix concrete (RMC) and one of the largest manufacturers of white cement in India.[2]
The Gujarat Cement Works of UltraTech Cement was established in 1998.[3]
In 2024, the company proposed the expansion of the plant with clinker capacity from 5 million tonnes per annum (mtpa) to 5.7 mtpa, cement capacity from 3.975 mtpa to 8 mtpa and coal based captive power plant from 92 MW to 104 MW.[4]
