Guoxin Yangzhou power station (江苏国信扬州发电厂, 国信扬电三期2×100万千瓦扩建项目) is an operating power station of at least 2460-megawatts (MW) in Yangzhou city, Hanjiang, Yangzhou, Jiangsu, China with multiple units, some of which are not currently operating. It is also known as 扬州第二发电厂.

Background
Guoxin Yangzhou power station is a four-unit coal-fired power plant with a total capacity of 2,460 MW in Jiangsu Province. The first two units were built in 1998; the second two in 2006 and 2007.[4][5]
Description of Expansion
A third phase of 2 x 1000 MW has been proposed.[6]
However, with no developments since October 2014, the project appears to be shelved.
This 2×1000MW expansion project (Phase III Units 5 & 6) received project approval in June 2025[7] and began construction in December 2025[8].
Significant construction milestones included the natural draft cooling tower foundation pour in March 2026[9] and the #5 boiler beam installation in May 2026[10].
Unit 6 construction progressed with the turbine generator foundation pour in December 2025[11], boiler welding start in May 2026[12], and boiler beam installation in June 2026[13].
