Background

Yantai Wanhua Chlor-alkali cogen power station is a 2 x 50 MW coal plant in Fushan, sponsored by Wanhua Chemical Group.[2]

As of March 2019, the units were under construction.[3]

Some satellite imagery suggested units could have began operating around May 2020 and October 2021.

Comparing imagery from March 2022 and November 2023 seemed to show an increase from 7 units to 8. According to the Environmental Protection Acceptance Assessment Report, the two 50 MW units were expected to start operation after January 2023.
