Background

In February 2019, the power plant was under development and published its Environmental Impact Assessment.[1][2]

In 2019, it was reported that many of the coal-fired power generating units in the Shandong Province with less than 300 MW of capacity would be shut down "in about three years."[3] However, this power station appeared to be exempt from that plan. Unit 4 may have been retired.[4][2]
