Background
On March 23, 2019, the working group for strengthening supervision and designated assistance in key areas, under the campaign of the Blue Sky Defense War launched by the Ministry of Ecology and Environment, pointed out that the company did not complete the elimination and relocation tasks on time. It is now included in the list of steel enterprises to be rectified.[1]
On June 19, 2019, when the environmental protection department inspected Zibo Qilin Fushan Iron and Steel Co., Ltd., it was found that the company's (steel plant) lime storage workshop did not take airtight measures when loading dust removal and unloading. It temporarily stored the lime powder. The gate of the pressure ball warehouse was not closed when no operations were carried out on site, and the unorganized discharge of dust on the site was serious, causing the problem of dust pollution. In accordance with the relevant provisions of the Air Pollution Prevention and Control Law of the People's Republic of China, the Environmental Protection Bureau of Zibo High-tech Zone imposed a fine of 10,000 yuan on the company.[2]
