Ako Cement Plant power station (住友大阪セメント 赤穂工場) is a retired power station in Ako Plant, Ako, Hyogo, Japan. It is also known as Sumitomo Osaka Cement Ako Factory power station.

Background
The Ako Cement Plant power station is owned by Sumitomo Osaka Cement Co Ltd and has 102 MW of capacity.[5]
In March 2026, Sumitomo Osaka Cement retired the coal-fired Ako Power Plant at its Ako Cement Plant. The company had announced in January 2026 that it would discontinue operations at the plant by the end of March 2026, citing the planned launch of Japan’s emissions trading scheme (GX-ETS), and said the plant had primarily supplied electricity to the company’s cement plants.[6][7]
