Background
The Al Muthanna Cement Plant is owned by the Southern Cement State Company, and has the capacity to produce nearly 2 million tonnes of cement annually.[3] Unlike many of the other cement plants owned by the same company in Iraq, this plant uses the dry production method with preheating and precalcination.[4]
