Background
The Sharjah Cement Plant began operations in 1977 and has experienced numerous capacity upgrades to bring the total capacity to more than 4 million tonnes of cement grinding and more than 2 million tonnes of clinker annually.[3] The company signed an agreement to use 50% alternative fuels derived from industrial waste by 2024.[4]
