Background

The Al-Muslimiyah Cement Plant opened in 1960 with a single production line. In the 1970s, the plant added two more production lines.[3]

The plant was entirely destroyed during the Syrian Civil War. In 2025, under the new Syrian government, the plant was offered up for reinvestment and renovation, with plans for a clinker kiln of not less than 5,000 tonnes per day in capacity.[4]
