Background

The 1,320 megawatt coal-fired plant is being proposed by Avanthi Power and Infrastructure. The project is located in Amreli, Gujarat in India.

As of August 2014 there has been no development of the project in over four years, including no permit applications. Although the company still makes a cursory mention of the project on its website ("...one thermal power project in Gujarat is under planning"), it appears the project has been abandoned.
