Background
Western Farmers Electric Cooperative (WFEC) held a ceremonial groundbreaking in October 2024, officially marking the start of construction for two new gas turbines at the Anadarko plant. The new units were named Roulet 12 and 13 in honor of WFEC CEO Gary Roulet. The two gas turbines will replace three aging steam turbine units (units 1-3 with the installed capacity below GEM's threshold of 50 MW) that have served for over 60 years, lowering maintenance costs and improving reliability.[4] GE Vernova is supplying the two aeroderivative LM6000VPC Sprint units. The new units are expected t be commissioned in 2026.[5]
