Background

The Al Burj Cement Plant opened under Arab Union Contracting Company in 2005, with two production lines and a total capacity of 1.4 million tonnes of cement annually.[3] The plant has experienced multiple shutdowns since, including most recently in 2024, but as of October 2025 was again soliciting cement orders.[4]
