Background

The Arabian Cement Plant in Rabigh was the first cement plant constructed on the Arabian peninsula, opening in 1959. Over the years it constructed additional production lines, six in total, though only the two most modern remain operational with a capacity of more than 4 million tonnes of clinker and 9 million tonnes of cement grinding annually.
