Background

The Témara Cement Plant has operated since 1979 in the Rabat area. It has a production capacity of around 1.4 million tonnes per year of cement. In 2024, the plant was acquired by Ciments du Maroc, a subsidiary of the international cement producer Heidelberg Materials. That transaction also included plans to increase the use of alternative industrial waste-derived fuels in the clinker kiln.
